Congratulations to NeuraMetrics’ Alliance Partner UtiliWorks and the City of Ruston!
Utiliworks’ Clients have won their second consecutive Project of the Year Award. The Smart Grid Project of the Year is awarded by Utility Automation and Engineering T&D Magazine, a division of PennWell Corporation.
The City of Ruston received the Smart Grid Project of the Year Award at DistribuTECH 2010. Dale Pennington, Utiliworks’ Managing Director, explained that the city’s project fully accommodates all critical aspects of a smart grid as defined by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Dale acknowledged that “Incorporating all these components which cut across so many technical disciplines will make this one of the most aggressive and forward thinking smart grid projects in the U.S.,” Ruston’s smart-grid energy management system will develop a fully functioning Smart Grid by improving customer systems, automating electricity distribution, and deploying a smart meter network from UtiliWorks and a data management system.
The City of Ruston was one of the first utilities to use the UtiliWorks Insight™ analysis tool to lower the utility’s AMI and smart grid project risk while promoting positive developments.
